WHAT IS IT?
In an effort to combine my love for entrepreneurship, meeting interesting people, and marketing, I put together some panel events to help similar community in their creative endeavors. During these discussion panels we dissected and discussed the importance of creating helpful content and products, the importance of building solid relationships, and strategies to get over the fear of starting your own brand. As a host of these panels I used my experience to come up with thought provoking questions, while providing insights & comments from my journey in content & business.
MY ROLE IN PROJECT:
PRODUCER -
Developed the concept/topic for the discussion panels. Brainstormed and determined relevant speakers. Found venues that fit topic & audience demographic. Hired assistants to help with setup of event. Hiring of media (Photograpgher, videographer)
DIRECTOR -
Determined venue/stage setup (talent, audience, & camera placement). Determined product and brand placement for sponsors. Managed & guided crowd & venue staff throughout the flow of event to stick to itinerary.
ON MIC HOST -
As the MC of the event I familiarized myself with the work & life of the talent. This sometimes occurred through watching their content or asking them questions directly (prior to events). Being in a similar field as the talent (creator/entrepreneur), I’m able to relate with them on a deep level. This allows for me to come up with insightful comments, questions, responses on the fly, in addition to the notes that I prepare.
TALENT RELATIONS -
I try to have some semi in-depth convos with talent. I like for them to have an idea of what they’re getting themselves into during the discussion. I want them to be aware of my background, the type of questions I plan to ask, and topics that I think will be beneficial to the audience.
Having worked as a creator/entrepreneur/influencer myself, we usually connect very quickly. This connections typically adds to the experience of the discussions.
I typically negotiate fees, travel, food & entertainment, etc with talent. The goal is creating an experience where the talent feels appreciated and comfortable, so that you can get the best out of them during the discussion.
I also collaborate with the venue, assistants, and their representation.
